How to care for silk?

Silk is a natural material with a subtle sheen and exceptional comfort. To maintain its quality and shape, it needs sensitive care. Proper treatment will ensure that it will last in your wardrobe for many years as a timeless jewel.

The most important rule is to never wash silk in a washing machine. The safest option is to entrust the garment to a professional dry cleaner with experience with natural materials. If you decide to wash at home, choose only hand wash in cold water (max. 30 °C) and a gentle detergent designed for silk or very delicate fabrics. Avoid bleach and aggressive ingredients that could damage the fibers. Only lightly press the material, never rub or wring it.

Dry loosely spread out on a towel, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Silk dries quickly and does not need to be accelerated. Light wrinkles will usually straighten out on their own when hung on a hanger. If ironing is necessary, set the lowest temperature (up to 100°C) and use a protective fabric or a steamer.
